Before you start riding in traffic, it is important to familiarize yourself with the locations and functions of all the controls on your motorcycle.
Luckily, most modern motorcycles feature standardized control locations.
The clutch lever, which allows you to engage and disengage the clutch when you need to shift, is located on the left side of your handlebars.
To shift gears, you will pull in the clutch lever with your left hand, while you shift with your left foot, and operate the throttle with your right hand.
