Each state has their own laws regarding the use of ATVs, UTVs, and off-road vehicles on public land and off-road trails.

Many states require both residents and non-residents to register their off-road vehicles and display valid ORV stickers each year.

You’ll also need to make sure to abide by the state’s safety equipment, rider age, and ATV equipment requirements.

Whether you’re a resident of a particular state or plan to visit another state with your out-of-state all-terrain vehicle, you’ll want to brush up on the current laws and requirements before you hit the trail.

Liability insurance laws also vary from state to state. However, it’s a smart idea to get liability coverage and additional coverages to protect you and your ATV. Learn more about ATV & UTV insurance here.
