Illinois ATV Registration Requirements & ORV Stickers
ATV registration is required in Illinois.
ATV owners are also required to title their off-highway vehicles through the SOS.
To do so, you’ll need to visit your local SOS office and present:
- Proof of ownership for the ATV.
- Bill of Sale.
- Title application.
- Payment for the title fee and taxes.
You’ll need to also purchase an annual OHV usage stamp through a DNR-approved vendor each year.
To apply, you’ll need to:

- Provide proof of identity and your residency.
- Pay the OHV usage stamp fee.
Illinois OHV Permit Cost
Fees for your IL ATV title and registration include:
- Title fee: $30.
- OHV permit: $15 + $0.50 issuance fee.
