History of Kawasaki Motorcycles
Kawasaki motorcycles formed as a division in the larger company, Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan, in the 1960s as a response to the booming U.S. motorcycle market.
By the mid 60s, Kawasaki had released its W1.
In the late 60s, it released its H1 and H2, which both earned reputations as being almost too powerful.
With the Z1 in 1972 to compete with Honda’s CB750, Kawasaki began to solidify its presence in the U.S. market.
