XT250 Specs & Details

The Yamaha XT250 is a dual-sport motorcycle that’s gone through a few phases. The first production spanned from 1980 to 1990, and the second was reintroduced in 2008.

The first iteration of the XT250 is a popular choice in rural areas, backroads, and for farm work, but serves as a fun bike just about anywhere.

Changes throughout the first generations included stricter emissions controls and a more compact gas tank.

The reintroduction of the XT250 in 2008 replaced the XT225 model. In 2013, the intake system was updated to fuel-injection.

Specs for the Yamaha XT250 include:

  • Top Speed: 76 mph.
  • Engine Displacement: 249cc
  • Cylinders/Engine Type: Single cylinder SOHC 4 stroke.
  • Compression Ratio: 9.5:1
  • Transmission: 5 speed
  • Wet Weight: 291 lbs.
