How to Register a Motorcycle in Minnesota

In order to ride your motorcycle on public roadways in Minnesota, you’ll need to make sure it is registered and that your registration is valid.

  1. Visit a DPS office or submit your application by mail.

  3. Provide proof of ownership. 
  4. Provide proof of your identity and address.

If you’ve recently moved to Minnesota, you’ll need to transfer your out-of-state motorcycle plates within 60 days.
