  1. Why does the motorcycle need an odometer? I understand a speedometer but what good does an odometer do for titling wise?

These sorts of laws will vary from state to state, as does enforcement of them.

For North Dakota, you can refer to the Motorcycle Equipment Guide: https://www.dot.nd.gov/manuals/mv/MVD2894.pdf

If you are required to get your motorcycle inspection, there is a check box for Speedometer and Odometer on the Inspection Form (https://www.dot.nd.gov/forms/sfn02486.pdf).

If your bike is older and wasn’t equipped with an odometer to begin with, you’re most likely be O.K. Otherwise, you’ve got plenty of aftermarket/bolt-on options that can be easily installed and removed.

Unfortunately, MotorcycleZombies.com doesn’t make the laws, we just try to do our best to help get bikes running and registered. Good luck!
