In order to ride a moped legally in Wyoming, you’ll need to be sure to follow the rules and regulations. Failing to do so could result in traffic tickets, fines, or a suspended license. 

The Wyoming DOT defines mopeds as having:

  • 2 or 3 wheels. 
  • Foot pedals for human propulsion. 
  • An automatic transmission. 
  • A motor no larger than 50cc with 2 brake horsepower. 
  • A top speed of not more than 30 mph.
